History:
The Club was formed on June 14, 1982 in White Stone, Virginia and operates a shooting range on its own land located just outside the White Stone corporate limits. The Club has, and continues to be focused on improving the range facilities for members' shooting enjoyment while exercising careful stewardship of the environment at the same time.
A principal purpose of Rappahannock Pistol and Rifle Club is to provide its members and their guests a safe and convenient place to shoot. Of equal importance, is the promotion within the community of safe, responsible gun ownership and shooting sports. RPRC conducts friendly competitions for members and guests, including high power and small-bore rifle, pistol and shotgun events.
A number of members have qualified as certified NRA firearms instructors, who offer regular instruction for adults in the community on safe firearm handling and operation. For more information, see the Training and Events pages on our website. The Club is affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Virginia Shooting Sports Association (VSSA), and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). A number of club activities and projects have been partially funded by grants from the NRA. Frequently the Club makes its range available to local law enforcement authorities for training purposes.
