The Rappahannock Pistol and Rifle Club projects a positive image of responsible firearms ownership to residents of the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula of Eastern Virginia, while providing the opportunity and facilities for members to practice the shooting sports and learn firearms usage in a supportive and safe environment, thus establishing itself as a valued resource in our community.
The Club was formed on June 14, 1982 in White Stone, Virginia and operates a shooting range on its own land located just outside the White Stone corporate limits. The Club has and continues to be focused on improving the range facilities for members shooting enjoyment, and exercising careful stewardship of the environment.
A principal purpose of Rappahannock Pistol and Rifle Club is to provide its members and their guests a safe and convenient place to shoot. Of equal importance is the promotion within the community of safe, responsible gun ownership and shooting sports. RP&RC conducts friendly competitions for members, including high power and small bore rifle, pistol and shotgun events.
A number of members have qualified as certified NRA firearms instructors, with the club offering regular instruction for adults in the community on safe firearm handling and operation. For more information see the Training Programs and Club Calendar pages herein.
The Club is affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Virginia Shooting Sports Association (VSSA), and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). A number of club activities and projects have been partially funded by grants from the NRA. Frequently the Club makes its range available to local law enforcement authorities for training purposes.
