Introduction to Waterfowling Workshop
RPRC member Lynn Hyde, in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) Hunter Education Program, will once again host an Introduction to Waterfowling Workshop on Saturday, August 23rd, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Rappahannock Pistol and Rifle Club (RPRC) range.
This all-day workshop offers a great opportunity for RPRC members to gather and learn about the many challenges, opportunities, and essentials of waterfowl hunting.
Activities include:
· Wing shooting (live fire) instruction
· Decoy placement techniques
· Waterfowl regulations and species identification
A Luncheon, consisting of hot dogs and hamburgers, will be hosted by The Virginia Hunter Education Association.
All ammunition will be provided by DWR. Additionally, DWR will have firearms available for use if needed. Students are welcome to bring their own firearms; however, they must be unloaded, properly cased, and will be subject to a safety inspection by a DWR Volunteer prior to use. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse the use of any shotgun deemed unsafe.
Registration is currently open exclusively to RPRC members until May 31. If slots remain after that date, the workshop will be opened to the general public.
To express your interest and receive an official registration invitation, please email Lynn Hyde directly at lynnhyde429@yahoo.com no later than May 31.
Once you've made contact, Lynn will send an invitation. Please note: you must register with DWR before you can attend the event. If you are signing up and the event is already full, your name will be added to a waitlist in case a spot opens up due to a cancellation.
