RPRC Match Description Shotgun: Conventional Trap

This event will count in the Shotgun Division of the Club Championship, AND the Overall Club Championship. The match will be held on the Trap range.

All RPRC Range rules will be adhered to.  Mandatory safety talk starts at 12:45 pm.  Competition starts at 1:00 pm.

EQUIPMENT: GUNS: Shotgun (break open or semi-automatic). Load only one round at a time. SHELLS: No shot larger than 7 1/2 will be permitted.

COURSE OF FIRE: Two (2) standard rounds of Conventional Trap, 25 targets each, total of 50 targets. All shots are fired from the 16-yard line. One shot is fired per target. Two alibis will be allowed (not seeing the target is not an alibi). Conventional Trap has five stations. There can be up to five shooters in a squad. The shooter assigned to station one is the squad leader for the round. The squad leader ensures that the line is ready (eye and ear protection in place). Starting with station one, each shooter will shoot once in sequence at their station. The sequence is repeated five times. After each shooter in the squad has shot at five targets, the shooters rotate to the next station, with the station five shooter moving to station one. The squad leader always shoots first after rotation, regardless of station. Ties will be broken by a shoot-off with each competitor shooting two shots at each of the five stations, with each competitor shooting the same number of rounds until the tie is broken.
