Sat, 1/11, Legislative update:

from VCDL- Alert, 5:55PM, 1/10:
“With almost no notice and not even saying who is on the Rules committee until late last night, the Democrats changed the rules to ban guns in the General Assembly and the Capitol buildings.  THERE IS NO EXCEPTION FOR CHP HOLDERS.
IMPORTANT: there is NO ban outside those buildings, including on the Capitol grounds.  Thus, those attending the VCDL Lobby Day Rally, which is an outside event on the Capitol steps, CAN be legally armed”

Legislation Introduced
With the Va. Legislature opening their sessions on Wednesday 1/8 there are already over 90 firearms related bills filed or proposed, including ones directed at closing private ranges (indoors & outdoors) and making felons out of otherwise law-abiding citizens.
To allow you to better inform yourself about these bills we have prepared a summary compilation.  Each bill is listed with its origin (House/Senate), bill number & sponsor, and a color coded indicator of the impact it may have on the liberty of law-abiding citizens.

Article I. Bill of Rights - Virginia Constitution
Section 13. Militia; standing armies; military subordinate to civil power

"That a well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state, therefore, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; that standing armies, in time of peace, should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power”.

Say NO to Gov. Northam's extreme gun control agenda. This is anti-gun politics as usual. Let's demand real solutions from Richmond, not failed gun control schemes. Senate Courts of Justice Committee, Monday Jan 13 @ 8:00AM, Pocahontas Building. Go to> NRA-ILA VA Gun Ban page

It’s critical every gun owner in the Commonwealth contact their legislators, urging them to OPPOSE Gov. Northam’s anti-gun agenda during the next legislative session beginning January 8!
